Richard Reeve Scholarship 2009/2010 for Postgraduate and Undergraduate in London
The Foundation was created in 1706 following the death in 1702 of Richard Reeve. The Foundation makes hundreds of grants each year to help young people stay in education and learn new skills to improve their chances of finding paid employment.
The Governors meet four times a year to consider applications. The meetings are usually held in March, June, October and December. You will need to complete an application form if you want to apply for support.
Eligibility Critera
a) The Foundation’s area of benefit covers the London boroughs of Camden, Islington and the City of London.
b) You must be aged 25 or under (in exceptional cases this may be extended to 40)
c) You or your parent/s must have lived or worked for the last 12 months, or for at least two of the last ten years, in the area of benefit (see above) or
d) You must have been studying at a school, college or univeristy in the area of benefit (see above) and have been enrolled there for at least the last twelve months
Application
You will need to complete an application form and send it to us together with copies of all the supporting documents that we ask you for. On receipt of your application we will write to acknowledge receipt of the form and ask you for any additional information that we may need to help us assess your application.
When we have everything we need to make a decision we will let you know at which meeting your application will be considered. As soon as a decision has been made we will write to let you know if you have been successful.
If you are studying at University for an undergraduate degree, foundation degree or postgraduate qualification please use the higher education form. For all other courses and those applying for help with equipment needed when starting work please use the further education form.
If you are studying at University of the Arts, Birkbeck, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, City and Islington College or Westminster Kingsway College please see your student advisor about making an application. This is because we have a partnership scheme in place with these establishments.
Deadlines for applications:
20 February 2009 – for the March committee meeting
29 May 2009 – for the June committee meeting (subject to availability of funds)
