Gerry Heckman Scholarship 2009 in Electrical and Computer Engineering
This scholarship fund has been established to honour Gerry Heckman, a passionate advocate of enhancing Canada’s global competitiveness through investment in human resources. One or more annual scholarships, valued up to $3,000 each, will be made to outstanding fourth-year undergraduate students in Electrical and Computer Engineering who have achieved academic excellence (minimum 80% overall average) and who have demonstrated their involvement in extracurricular or volunteer activities at UW or within the community. Preference will be given to students who intend to pursue graduate studies and/or to students with a demonstrated interest in a career in telecommunications or computing. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Application Deadline: Submit completed applications to the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office, 2nd Floor, Needles Hall on or before: June 15 2009 (If the deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the deadline date is the preceding Friday).
Award Requirements:
1. A detailed letter explaining how you satisfy the terms of the award, as stated above in the award description.
2. A printout of your most recent Undergraduate Unofficial Transcript from Quest.
3. Any additional documentation, e.g., resume, that helps to describe your eligibility for this award.
