Canadian Posture & Seating Centre Award for Project Funding
Awards in support of student projects valued between $500 and $2,000 have been established to recognize and encourage student interest in and attainment of a high level of academic and practical achievement in preparation for development and delivery of systems, methodology or assistive devices in aid of full participation in Canadian Society by physically disadvantaged persons. The awards will be granted to outstanding students who demonstrate an interest and ability in engineering activities directed toward delivery of such services. Interested students in third- or fourth-year may apply. Application Deadline: Submit completed applications to the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office, 2nd Floor, Needles Hall on or before: Fall Term: October 15, Winter Term: February 15, Spring Term: June 15 (If the deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the deadline date is the preceding Friday).
Application Requirements and Selection Criteria:
The mean of the averages of all students working on the project must be 75% minimum. Selection will be based on a submitted project proposal. This proposal must address the need for the project funding; the thoroughness with which other funding sources have been investigated and sought; an evaluation of the likelihood the objective of the project can be reached; a defendable budget; and an evaluation of the likelihood of the applicants to pursue a career supportive of the development and delivery of systems, methodology or assistive devices in aid of full participation in Canadian Society by physically disadvantaged persons. The project supervising/advising/consulting professor must provide a letter verifying the need for the funding. Selection to be made by the Advisory Committee on Engineering Awards (ACES). I confirm that the information provided on this application, and attached hereto, is complete and accurate in every respect. I understand that the Student Awards Office will send me written notification of the results of this application.
