The Center for Korean Studies Fellowship 2009-2010 for Research in Korean Studies

The Center for Korean Studies offers grants to Penn graduate students for research in Korean Studies
Two grants, each in an amount up to $2,000, will be awarded this year to assist graduate students of Penn in their research related to Korean Studies. Any student enrolled in a graduate degree at Penn is eligible to apply for funds to support his or her research. Awards will be made on the basis of the competitively established merit of the proposals.

Application Materials:

1. Application form

The applicant should complete the application form, including the proposed budget form on the reverse side of the form, describing all anticipated costs of research-related activities that the grant might be applied to.

2. Research proposal

This should include the title of the proposed research, a detailed description of its intended content and how the research will be conducted. The applicant should explain how the research is important to his or her academic project. This should be a maximum of 2 pages, 12-point, single-spaced.

3. Faculty recommendation letter

The applicant should include a recommendation letter that will support his or her application, in particular addressing how the proposed research will be significant to the applicant’s academic work.

The deadline for application is January 12, 2009.
