Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund (JMSMSF)
I. Qualification/Eligibility
1. US Citizen or permanent resident
2. GPA 2.5 or higher
3. High School Senior who must matriculate at a US accredited four-year college or university full time during school year 2009-2010.
4. Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services, extra curricular or other activities.
Mail the completed application so that it is postmarked or received by the Janice M Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund on or before March 31 2009.
The completed application must include: Application, Official Transcript, two Letters of Recommendation, Federal Financial Aid Document, Essay, and a high school senior picture (Note. Will not accept copies of pictures. Applicants are to annotate their names on the back of their pictures. The pictures will only be used on the website. They will be withdrawn before the applications are submitted to the JMSMSF Scholarship Selection Committee.). Application packets should be mailed to:

Essay Topic: Essay – Each candidate must provide a 500-1000 word essay focusing on “What do Freedom and Justice Mean” to him or her. Essay technical requirements; double space, 11 point font size, one (1) inch margin on all sides, original and six copies, submitted in English, avoid jargon, and certify authorship and originality The essay will be evaluated on originality, content, thought provoking ideas, innovation, and concepts previously unpublished.
