2009-2010 Scholarship for High School Seniors by PEPSI/WINN DIXIE

PEPSI/WINN DIXIE YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Scholarship(s) will be awarded to high school seniors (hereinafter referred to as student) who have met the eligibility requirements and criteria listed below, and who are planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution during the 2009- 2010 school year. The number of scholarships and the dollar amount of each scholarship will be determine by the amount of funds that will be raised at the Pepsi Bottling Group Scholarship Golf Outing scheduled to be held in March of 2009. Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Pepsi Bottling Group.

ELIGIBILITY:

* Student, must be currently enrolled and attending a public, private, or parochial school for the 2008/2009 school year.
* Student must be a U.S. citizen and currently enrolled and attending an eligible school within the counties of Duval, St. John, Nassau, Clay, Bradford, Alachua, Baker, Columbia, Flagler, Putnam, Suwannee or Volusia within the state of Florida or the counties of Lowndes, Camden, Glynn within the state of Georgia.
* Student must be planning to enroll and will need to be accepted into an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution to be eligible to receive the scholarship.
* Student must be planning to pursue a degree (or an equivalent certification) at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution during the 2009 – 2010 school year.
* Student must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.GPA cumulative from Grade 9 and must be provided with the student’s transcript from an authorized school faculty member.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

* Complete Application Form – (Applications may be copied)
* Copy of high school transcript.
* Essay of NO MORE THAN 250 WORDS describing student’s career goals and why he/she would want to be a Pepsi Bottling Group Scholar.
* Student must submit two (2) letters of recommendation, one letter from an authorized high school faculty member, and one letter from a community leader or an employer familiar with the student’s career interests.

DEADLINE AND SELECTION:

* Student’s application, essay and all required documentation must be received by February 10, 2009.
* The scholarship recipients will be chosen by a committee as stated above, the selection process will be based on the sole discretion of the committee and the committee’s interpretation of the eligibility requirements and application documents’ requirements.
* The committee reserves the right to request an interview with a student being considered as a scholarship recipient.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARDS:

* Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing by Pepsi Bottling Group on or before March 1, 2009.
* All scholarship checks will be payable to the accredited U.S. post-secondary institution. Scholarship recipient will be responsible for all taxes and fees associated with receipt of the scholarship funds if applicable. will be payable to the college/university to be held on account for the student only to be used to pay for tuition.
